Jurisdictional Bishop Aaron J. Batiste Sr.
Jurisdictional Bishop Aaron J. Batiste Sr. is a native of Pontiac MI and is married to Sis. Lashana Batiste. Through this union God has blessed them with four beautiful children (Alexis, Aaron Jr., Ashli, and Ajani). Bishop Batiste was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ early age and later filled with the Gift of the Holy Ghost under the leadership of the Late Assistant Presiding Bishop Paul O. Jones Jr. at Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Faith Church, in Pontiac MI. While at Zion he served faithfully under the Pastorate and Mentorship of Bishop P.O. Jones Jr. as God continued to call him further in the work of the Lord. Bishop Batiste (at the time Bro. Batiste) served dutifully in many capacities and roles within the church. While attempting to run from the call into Ministry, he became tired from the chase, surrendered, and accepted the call into the Preaching Ministry. After working in the Ministry and by recommendation of his Pastor, Minister Batiste was selected and ordained as Elder in 2002 within the Apostolic Assemblies of Christ, Inc (AAC).
In 2005 Elder A. J. Batiste Sr. and his Family relocated to the Tupelo MS Area and within this transition, received guidance from the Late Honorable Founder and Presiding Bishop G.M. Boone DD. With the guidance of the Honorable Bishop George M. Boone, the persistency of the late Mother Marian Lane (which became the adopted Mother of Bishop Batiste), and Sincere Prayer, Elder Batiste became an Associate Minister of the New Beginning Apostolic Church, under the Leadership (then) of Elder Bramlett Cooper (now Presiding Bishop Bramlett Cooper of the Apostolic Assemblies of Christ). In 2006 Elder Batiste relocated to the Greater Memphis Area where his faithfulness and work continued in support, loyalty, and dutifulness serving under Pastor Bramlett Cooper. Elder Batiste served/s as a profound and astute Teacher and Pillar to the New Beginning Apostolic Church (NBA) in Memphis TN. Elder Batiste was selected as the NBA Youth Chair, served as former Usher, serving on the NBA Board of Trustees, Senior Adult Sunday School Teacher, and Senior Associate Minister for NBA.
In 2010 Elder Aaron Batiste was elevated to the office of District Elder of the Apostolic Assemblies of Christ within the Southern District Council. District Elder Batiste was appointed as Youth Chairman within the Southern District Council of the Apostolic Assemblies of Christ. In addition, Elder Batiste sits on the SDC Executive Board and is part of the Program and Planning Committee for the SDC. Elevation comes from the Lord and in 2014 Elder Batiste was elevated to the office of Jurisdictional Bishop for the Apostolic Assemblies of Christ. In this capacity Jurisdictional Bishop A. J. Batiste Sr. works assisting the Diocesan Bishops of the Southern District, Tennessee/Carolina, and Eastern District Councils. Jurisdictional Bishop Batiste continues to work within the AAC and faithfully serve on the Ministerial Board of the New Beginning Apostolic Church under Presiding Bishop Bramlett Cooper. In October 2018 Jurisdictional Bishop Batiste was appointed as Assistant Chairman of the Southern District Council of the AAC.
In March 2019, the Lord moved upon the heart of Presiding Bishop Bramlett Cooper and Jurisdictional Bishop Aaron J. Batiste Sr. to step into the role of Acting Pastor of the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ, in the City (GACOC) of Springfield IL. This move was done after much prayer with Bishop’s Cooper & Batiste as well as the GACOC Church Family. Bishop Batiste has a passion for Souls and the Word of God… he has a strong burden for GACOC and looks forward to continuing the work which was left by the Late Assistant Presiding Bishop Samuel J. Carter. His energy, drive, and compassion combined with the Word of the Lord is contagious enough to draw both the Young and Old to Christ. His vision and spiritual gait is focused on impacting life altering changes to the heart of those seeking a New Life In Christ! One of Bishop A. J. Batiste Sr. favorite quotes is, “If God don’t do it, it won’t be done”… One of his favorite scriptures is Psalms 27 as the Lord has shown Himself to be both Light and Salvation in his life. Bishop Batiste loves traveling, eating good food, clean fun and fellowship, good dialogue, and a good laugh!
Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
